Primary Varietal: Plavac Mali
On the extreme, 45-degree southern slopes of the Pelješac Peninsula, vines of Plavac Mali (a sibling of Zinfandel) are subjected to the "triple insolation" effect: direct sun, sun reflecting off the deep blue Adriatic Sea, and sun reflecting off the pure white limestone soil. The resulting red wines are full-bodied, robust, and loaded with dark cherry, dry fig, and coastal herb complexity.
Istrian Malvazija
Primary Varietal: Malvazija Istarska
Malvazija Istarska is the signature white grape of the Istrian peninsula. Bounded by cool Alpine winds and warm Adriatic sea breezes, it yields crisp, mineral-driven dry white wines. Expect beautiful, aromatic layers of green apple, acacia blossoms, and citrus peel, rounded out by a structured body and a classic hint of almond bitterness on the finish.
